Personal publishing - anyone can put information into websites without technical support. Blogs began about 10 years ago.

(Parts of communities of people) Communicate much easer on the internet. Started via email, then group email - 'computer conferencing' e.g. First Class email system. (www started later 1990's)
Facebook (2004)
200million users 2008. Content about yourself.
MySpace (2004)
Originally storage space for documents. They share knowledge.

Ease Ad Volume Of Using Web
Costs cheaper. More people creating more software less technical.
Leading to Semantic Web. Knowledge and knowledge management - what to do with it all?
other tools - mobile devices, web cams, video cams, VOI (voice over Internet)

Virtuality

Working in digital space or cyber space.
