For this week's assignment, I subscribed to two podcasts, the first is a course at Penn State University. The course is IST 110 (Information Science, and Technology ). This podcast offers 4 great podcasts about topics covered in our course EDU 595.
"This course is all about the challenges associated with engaging with the eWorld. We are going to focus quite a bit of energy on the concepts of Web 2.0, or the read/write web. These concepts will get you all up to speed with where the web has been, where it is going, and how it will look in the next couple of years. I'll ask you all to get your own blogs setup, learn the basics of tagging by using del.icio.us, take part in podcasting, work in teams to solve a real world challenge and more. Should be a fun semester. I am looking forward to it."
I've had an opportunity to listent to 3 of the 4 podcasts and they're very infomative.
The second podcast is mathgrad.com. This site is done by a graduate student at Colorado State University. This give short 10 minutes lessons in everyday mathematics. The podcasts are very interesting and they have relevant meaning and hopefully some of the ideas I can use in my classroom.
I really enjoyed subscribing to podcast. I used iTunes and it's very user friendly. The amount of information and topics that are out there for podcasts is incredible, and I look forward to exploring more topics in podcasting.
