What It Means To Participate In EduBloggerWorld

Posted on September 13, 2007 at 8:38am 2 Comments

At first I was disappointed. Then I better understood reality. When I first saw Suzanne's forum post on the newly created EduBloggerWorld ning, I wasn't sure exactly how to respond.

"Why is it that teachers…

Window to EduBlogger World - Quick Reflection

Posted on August 29, 2007 at 9:16am 2 Comments

It's been nearly a week since our initial virtual meet-ups for EduBloggerWorld. Since the meet-ups, I've had a little time to think about what we experienced, and what we accomplished. As a result, I will now share a few observations I have made and pose a few questions for our community to answer. I will be frank and open, and encourage your thoughts as to how we can improve.

A Few Observations

Postcards From Afar - A Request From My Daughter

[Quick note: This blog post has been written by my daughter - cross posted on Drape's Takes]

My class is doing a project. We're learning about the world. We're trying to get postcards from all over the globe. I think it will be really neat to learn about places I've… Continue

Where's Japan?

I'm excited to see the EduBloggerWorld community grow - and excited for upcoming additions (as with most online communities, progress isn't as fast as we'd sometimes like it - patience is a virtue).

I'm particularly impressed with the emergence of the Spanish Bloggers groups and their rate of growth/activity! Keep up the good work!

That said, I'm… Continue

Pay Attention - Advertisement For Smarter Teaching

Posted on July 16, 2007 at 8:38pm 0 Comments

I posted my Pay Attention video to our Ning - not as an advertisement for our site, but simply as an push toward improved teaching. While you're more than welcome to use the resources we've created, I am mostly concerned that you effectively integrate technology into your teaching - regardless of where you learn how to do it.

The Jordan School District T4 website has been a worthwhile resource for… Continue

Finding Ning to be a tool I want to learn more about and figure out ways to use it with my teachers and students,

Yeah, to be honest I don't have a whole lot of experience with Ning. It does, however, seem to have a lot of potential. You should look into Julie and Vicki's Horizon Project and how they used the Ning.

Darren - I'm totally new to Ning and I'm on a trip until the end of July, so not sure how much I'll be doing in the short term.
Excited about the network though - I agree with recent posts - this might be part of the tipping point.

This picture was just a reflection of my state of mind during my three-week graduate class stint. Too much readin', writin', and rithmatic.

I saw the slideshare version of Pay Attention a few days ago and just watched the video. Great message. The T4 site also looks great, I'll enjoy browsing.

And your Spanish is pretty good too. Where'd that come from?
