Over the past year, I have moved my professional development to a 2.0 platform. Use of blogs, wikis, forums with monthly face-to-face meetings. Does anyone else have experience with this type of structure?
I also have a ning site dedicated to PD -

I use a blog in connection with every PD class I now teach. I think it's great because I can ask questions (and tell my students/teachers) about things I had originally intended to teach (but for some reason left out - either because of time constraints or whatever issue).

I also use Moodle to facilitate class forums and assignments - it's been an invaluable tool!
Exactly what I have found. If any would like to see some of the results, you can check out:

Hi Sharon, everyone,

Our PD for ementors, echampions and eleaders in Victorian Learn Locals (ACE) is a blend of web 2.0 tools, LMS, f2f workshops, community networks and virtual classrooms.

We used Skype to run introductory meetings (geographic distribution of participants in Hume is a 4 hour round trip by car)

We use Blackboard Collaborate for weekly tutorials (intro to BbC, intro to Moodle, intro to Social Media, intro to Elearning resoures

We will have a 4 hour workshop to bring everyone together to network and consolidate action plans for their PD

We have a group within a Ning network and each regions' participants are expected to join the larger ACE Network Ning.

My Hume group also has a Moodle course Hub where we sharing asynchronous learning materials and a place for them to practice being a teacher in Moodle.

Blogs are not a feature for Hume but some are keen to develop their Facebook groups as promotional tools for their Learn Local organisation. Other regions are requesting their eleaders to reflect in blogs - they are a good tool for that.

I'm thinking about getting Hume eleaders to produce a collaborative suite of portfolios online to showcase their development.
